Mountaineering Expeditions in Ladakh
Stok Kangri (6153m) is one of the most famous trekking peaks in Ladakh and has long been considered the perfect introduction to high-altitude mountaineering in the Himalayas. The climb offers dramatic landscapes and stunning views of the Karakoram and Zanskar ranges.
Since 2020, Stok Kangri has been closed to protect the glacier that serves as a vital water source for Stok village. As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding its reopening in 2026.
When open, the ascent can be completed in as little as four days for well-acclimatized trekkers. For better acclimatization, the expedition can be combined with routes from Spituk or Chilling or linked with the Markha Valley trek.
